Marriage preparation at St. John the Baptist seeks to assist couples in continual discernment together as well as spiritual, human, and catechetical formation for the sacrament Holy Matrimony. Please begin by taking the following steps: 

1. Contact the parish office to schedule an appointment with Fr. Richard or Fr. Carlos.  
2. Confirm the wedding date with the parish office (we highly recommend doing this first before booking any other venues in case your desired date is unavailable). 
3. Meet with Fr. Richard or Fr. Carlos to fill out initial paperwork and discuss formation. Please bring with baptismal certificates with notations of other sacraments received along with any annulment paperwork if applicable. 
4. After this meeting, we will contact you to take the FOCCUS pre-marriage inventory if applicable and meet to discuss results and connect you with a mentor couple. 
5. Complete an approved Natural Family Planning class as discussed in meetings. 
6. Attend the diocesan marriage preparation retreat/seminar. 
7. Contact the Director of Sacred Music to discuss music during the wedding Mass or ceremony.
